I think the no names in the novel is a bit frustrating myself. I suppose it has to do with the narrators lack of identity, and the continuing theme that there is a confession being made in regard to being black or white (blending in with society). I suppose if you weren't blending in then a name would be legitamate because it would label who you are. That of course, is just my take on the whole no name situation within the novel.
